Dark Machine Funk is the name of the game for Irish-born, Manchester-based Kerrie, who runs the label that also provides an apt description of her sound. Mainly influenced by Detroit and UK techno of the 90s and 00s, she doesn't rely on increasing the tempo and noise level to reach her high energy, instead letting the tracks breathe and swing – a style that has earned her releases on labels such as James Ruskin's Blueprint. The former resident DJ of Manchester club Eastern Bloc will be playing at Berghain alongside colleagues such as Erika, Marco Shuttle, Robert Hood and Speedy J. CHERIII, originally from France, is the founder and resident DJ of the queer party series Homodrop, which took place at East London cult club Dalston Superstore before he made the move to Berlin five years ago. Through his label of the same name, he's released tracks such as “Labdance” and “Lockdown On Acid”, demonstrating his expertise on deviant dancefloors by bringing slow winding acid lines, Italo disco references and hi-NRG claps.
