Andy Pi from France is the co-founder of the Nébuleuse collective in Paris, representing a fast, hypnotic techno sound with elements of trance. Also with a need for speed is Berlin-based Russian DJ/producer Less Distress, who honed her mixing skills at the Mosaique Club in Saint Petersburg. Her influences range from hard industrial sounds to old-school tribal grooves to emotive deep trance. Marilao from Sweden also evokes these styles in his productions and DJ sets – his tracks on labels such as Space Trax, UTE.REC and Morph are trancey breakbeat numbers, gliding effortlessly with almost epic proportions.
