Klubnacht

Hailing from Mexico City, Andy Martin is a Mexican-Jamaican DJ/producer whose music merges sci-fi techno with Latin American and Caribbean sounds. On his debut album Antigos Astronautas, released two years ago on his label Diaspora Echoes, he explores the history of a pre-Columbian civilization on the American continent said to have had highly advanced knowledge of astronomy, mathematics and architecture. Martin's approach to techno delves deep into rich sonic structures and mysterious atmospheres, subtly casting a spell on listeners. This edition of Klubnacht will be his first time playing at Berghain. After her debut at our Homodrop party in May, Berlin-based Brit Maze returns to Panorama Bar. Inspired by London's queer nightlife and kinky raves like Glastonbury's Block9, she has developed an energetic sound blending space disco and house over the last 20 years as both a DJ and producer (the latter as Maze DJ) on labels like Permanent Vacation and Neptune Discs. And there is a LIVE performance by Bolis Pupul in SÄULE tonite. On his recently released album Letter To Yu, the Chinese-Belgian artist deals with themes of loss, grief and origin as well as culture, belonging/non-belonging and identity.
