KWIA is a no-longer-secret, ambient-focused listening bar situated along Berlin's Maybachufer that follows in the tradition of Japanese jazz kissas, which historically have been bars with a cozy atmosphere that play jazz music on high-end sound systems – offering a setting that encourages attentive listening to what's more than merely background music. kwia imports this particular culture of audio enjoyment, something relatively rare in Berlin, into a queer, musically open space in which predominantly contemplative electronic music is played. This Thursday, kwia is taking over Säule for the first time with seven of its DJs – turn on, tune in, drop out.
