Revolting

Revolting is our all-gender party at the Lab on the eve of the Day of Ascension. Eli Escobar is an American DJ who has embodied the special New York underground sound between disco, house and Afrobeat since the early 90s. As resident DJ and organiser of three different dance parties in the city and producer of driving, sample-heavy disco-house-techno-hip-hop tracks on labels such as Classic, Night People NYC and most recently Permanent Vacation, Escobar has helped shape the rich musical history of his home city. LADYMONIX is a DJ/producer from Baltimore who now lives in Detroit, known for her deep disco and house sets. Her last EP for Studio Barnhus was called Welcome 2 My House – vintage diva vocals with classic organ chords and punchy, pumping beats.
