Dissident

As its rebellious name suggests, party collective Dissident embraces nonconformity – in terms of sound, style and aesthetic as well as in a social sense, fostering a community that centers queers and femmes and their contributions to dance music, past and present. The first edition at Säule welcomes Akua, whose sets perfectly fits this ethos: rejecting fleeting trends, the Ghanaian-American DJ crystallizes techno’s enduring pulse into something both historically rooted and fiercely of the moment. Joining her will be Dutch DJ/producer Spekki Webu, whose debut album Neural Network came out via Beyond the Bridge earlier this year, along with Chinese-born, Berlin-based crate-digger and Dissident founder Carly Zeng, plus Cryptofauna, a Dissident resident who's also known as half of the duo Epikur.
